“Excited to announce that our quality improvement initiative focused on enhancing advance care planning for lymphoma and myeloma patients treated with CAR T-cell therapy has received an ASCO Conquer Cancer Merit Award!
By incorporating structured reminders into our workflow and using an Epic SmartBlock, we significantly increased advance care planning rates, ensuring that patient preferences for care are properly recorded prior to CAR T-cell therapy.
An expansion study in patients treated with bispecific T-cell engagers is planned, with broader rollout within our entire hematologic malignancy group in the future.

29 Oncology Professionals Have Received A Conquer Cancer Merit Award
Dr. Charles Gaulin is a Lymphoma/Myeloma Fellow at MD Anderson Cancer Center with a research focus on hematologic malignancies. Prior to this, he was an Assistant Professor of Medicine and the Chief Hematology and Medical Oncology Fellow at Mayo Clinic.
