Bente Mikkelsen: A groundbreaking milestone achieved for diabetes in the WHO African Region!

Bente Mikkelsen shared on LinkedIn:

“A groundbreaking milestone has been achieved for diabetes in the WHO African Region!

Yesterday, the WHO Regional Committee for Africa adopted the Framework for the implementation of the Global Diabetes Compact in the WHO African Region — a monumental step forward in our fight to improve diabetes prevention and management!

The adoption of this framework is a significant milestone in addressing the growing diabetes burden across the region and promoting progress towards the global coverage targets for diabetes.

This framework is a testament to our collective commitment to reducing diabetes risk factors, strengthening primary healthcare and prioritizing the most vulnerable populations. Together, we’re forging a path towards equitable, comprehensive diabetes care across the region.
