Highlights from the CancerCon 2024

CancerCon is the yearly event for individuals affected by adolescent and young adult cancer.

Each year, it unites hundreds of patients, survivors, caregivers, advocates, and healthcare professionals to foster community and link adolescents and young adults with essential resources.

The CancerCon experience includes educational breakout sessions, group discussions, networking opportunities, a packed exhibit hall, and lots of social activities.

This year the CancerCon took place from August 16th-18th in Austin, Texas, USA.

Doctors and Professionals shared their insights on social media:

Katie Coleman, President of the Chromophobe and Oncocytic Tumor Alliance, shared on X:

One of the most common things I heard this weekend at CancerCon was ‘I wish I’d known about this sooner.’

There are few things more healing than knowing you’re not alone. In my opinion, one of the most underutilized tools in patient care is empowering connections to organizations, communities, and others with shared experiences.

I’ve seen this shifting in kidney cancer, with more patients being connected to resources, and it makes me so happy to see.

Such a great weekend, filled with incredible conversations. Video in my previous post for anyone looking for additional info.”
