Mark Lewis: Testicular cancer might be the curable neoplasm par excellence
Mark Lewis shared a post by Jennifer Marks, Thoracic oncologist at Lombardi Centre, on X:
“Someone (a retired healthcare professional, actually) was arguing with me this week that it’s unethical to give chemo because “we never cure anyone”.
Putting the merits of disease/symptom control aside for a second, testicular cancer might be the curable neoplasm par excellence!”
Quoting Jennifer Marks’ post:
“Testicular Cancer TLDR: Surveillance is preferred with Stage I Seminoma and Nonseminoma 1L chemo: BEP x 3 or EP x 4 *add another cycle if*
- AFP>1K
- Bhcg>5K
- LDH>1.5xULN
- Metastatis other than lung
- Mediastinal Primary.”
