Highlights from DGHO24

The 2024 Annual Meeting of the German, Austrian, and Swiss Societies for Hematology and Medical Oncology (DGHO24) took place from October 11 to 14, 2024, in Basel, Switzerland.

It was organized by the German Society for Hematology and Medical Oncology (DGHO).

This conference is recognized as one of the most significant gatherings for hematology and oncology professionals in the German-speaking region. It hosted over 5,500 experts from both national and international backgrounds in science and medicine, who shared innovative strategies for diagnosing and treating blood disorders and cancer.

Congratulations Maximilian Merz who received the prestigious Artur Pappenheim Prize for young researchers in Basel during DGHO24 for his amazing work on CAR-T cell therapy and multiple myeloma.

The Artur Pappenheim Prize is an award given by the German Society for Hematology and Medical Oncology (DGHO). It honors outstanding research in the field of hematology, particularly in the study of blood diseases and oncology.

The prize is named after Artur Pappenheim, a pioneering German hematologist known for his contributions to the understanding of blood cells and leukemia. It is awarded annually to recognize significant scientific achievements in these areas for young researchers, encouraging continued research and advancements in hematology and related fields.”

Jakob Nikolas Kather:
