“Attending this year’s ASCO meeting, centered on ‘The Art and Science of Cancer Care: From Comfort to Cure,’ has been an inspiring experience.

The opening remarks by ASCO President Dr. Lynn M. Schuchter highlighted a crucial aspect of caregivers’ work: the importance of effectively communicating with patients and their families, especially in heavily emotional situations.

It is undeniably challenging to be present throughout a patient’s journey, but caregivers’ dedication makes a significant difference in their experience.

Dr. Schuchter’s emphasis on compassionate communication serves as a powerful reminder of the human side of oncology.

Moreover, she underscored the importance of collaboration in reducing the global burden of cancer. Crossing borders, sharing knowledge, and working together are essential steps toward advancing cancer care and finding a cure.

Reflecting on these insights, I am reminded of how we in the pharmaceutical industry can contribute to this journey. By continuing to innovate and support both the scientific and emotional needs of patients, we can help alleviate the burden of cancer.
