“Below is a Tweetorial on all the things Vitamin D supplementation does not do based off high quality evidence (randomized controlled trials!).
Vitamin D does not prevent cancer.
Vitamin D does not prevent bone fractures.
Vitamin D does not increase bone density.
Vitamin D does not prevent cardiovascular disease.
Vitamin D does not improve blood pressure.
Vitamin D does not prevent type 2 diabetes.
Vitamin D to pregnant women did not result in healthier babies.
Vitamin D to critically ill patients in ICU didn’t make things better.
Vitamin D again did not prevent cardiovascular disease or cancer.
Vitamin D does not prevent tuberculosis (shocker).
Vitamin D does not reduce mortality in patients with heart failure.”
