Linghua Wang has been appointed to new roles in MD Anderson’s James P. Allison Institute

Linghua Wang is a tenured Associate Professor in the Department of Genomic Medicine, MD Anderson Cancer Center, where she leads the Computational Biology Laboratory.

She is highly skilled in computational biology, cancer genomics, and immuno-informatics. Her research group focuses on in-depth analysis of the tumor ecosystem, examining cellular and molecular diversity, phenotypic adaptability, and the interactions between cancer cells and the tumor microenvironment (TME) throughout tumor development, progression, metastasis, and response or resistance to therapy.

Dr. Wang has a research record with over 120 publications, including approximately 40 where she is the first, co-first, senior, or corresponding author in leading journals.

She has been invited to participate in several NIH/NCI grant review panels and has chaired or co-chaired sessions at major conferences like the AACR Annual Meeting, SITC Annual Meeting, and ENAR Spring Meeting. She also serves as a Scientific Editor for the journal Cancer Discovery.

The Allison Institute and the Institute for Data Science in Oncology have strengthened their spatial biology initiatives by appointing a new member, Linghua Wang.

On this occasion, MD Anderson Cancer Center shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Congratulations to computational biologist Dr. Linghua Wang, who has been appointed to new roles in MD Anderson’s James P. Allison Institute and our Institute for Data Science in Oncology.

‘We are pleased to have her step into these new roles, and I am delighted to see the growing synergy between these two premier research institutes as we all work to strengthen our scientific agenda and deliver meaningful benefits to patients,’ says our Dr. Giulio Draetta.

Learn more about how Wang will advance collaborative work in tumor immunobiology and spatial omics research.”
