Robby Spring: Cancer doesn’t just make you feel sick – it reshapes your identity
Robby Spring, Principal Consultant at Robby Spring Consulting, shared on LinkedIn:
“As I approach the one-year anniversary of finishing chemo, I wanted to share a personal project I’ve poured my heart into. I launched Instagram and TikTok accounts to document my post-chemo hair regrowth journey and advocacy work. While this might not be typical LinkedIn content, I’m sharing it here because it’s the kind of resource I desperately needed during treatment.
Cancer doesn’t just make you feel sick—it reshapes your identity. For women, losing hair, eyebrows, eyelashes, and even breasts often feels like losing parts of who you are. It’s not “just hair,” and moving forward isn’t as simple as it seems. For me, it was essential not to look like a patient, even when I felt like one.
Through my account, I acknowledge those struggles while also showing that things can, and do, get better. It is not only about reclaiming parts of myself that I lost, but it’s also about helping other women going through the same thing. By creating the kind of content I needed during my treatment, I hope to support and empower others.
Whether it’s advocating for better healthcare, helping others reclaim their identities, or influencing meaningful change, I’m committed to turning what happened to me and my family into something positive. Cancer changed my life in unimaginable ways, but it also gave me a renewed sense of purpose.
If you or someone you know could benefit from this, feel free to follow along or share.”
