Humaid Al-Shamsi: Skiing while on the slope for a quick zoom call

Humaid Al-Shamsi, Regional director of Burjeel Cancer Institute, shared on Linkedin:

“My daughter who was skiing with me today took this photo after I told her I have to take a break while on the slope for a quick zoom call.

This was when I got a call from my team for 2 urgent consultations while I’m on vacation , while I have full trust on my team , I’m always available for our patients when they request my opinion and input.

I shared a zoom link and joined the video call with my team and our patients. Without hesitating, we collectively made crucial decisions and took immediate actions without delaying to see the patient for next week after my return.

While the 2 consultation took less than 40 mins , it made huge difference for our patients and their families. The relentless nature of cancer respects no boundaries, not even vacations. However, we, as a team, remain resolute in our commitment to prioritize our patients above all else. It is this unwavering dedication that sets us apart from many others in our field.”
