Rasu Shrestha: Could not be prouder of Nurse Kris Blackley, and the tremendous work she leads and represents
Rasu Shrestha, Executive Vice President at Advocate Health, shared a post by Chris Berger, Vice President of Atrium Health, on LinkedIn:
“Love that patient navigation made it to the State of the Union. I could not be prouder of Nurse Kris Blackley, and the tremendous work she leads and represents. There is perhaps nothing more noble than to guide individuals, caregivers, and families through cancer screening, diagnosis, treatment, and survivorship. Thanks too to the tremendous leadership from Dr Ruben Mesa, MD across Atrium Health Levine Cancer Wake Forest University School of Medicine Advocate Health, and the work we’re pioneering forward with at CancerX Moonshot. ”
Quoting Chris Berger’s post:
“Congratulations to Kris Blackley, director of patient navigation for Atrium Health Health Levine Cancer Institute, who had a once-in-a-lifetime experience to be a guest of First Lady Jill Biden at the State of the Union Address.
Kris has worked for Levine Cancer Institute since its inception in 2011 and moved into her current position the following year. Patient navigators help identify barriers to care – such as transportation, childcare, housing, language and cost. The navigators act as advocates to help secure the resources, support and services necessary to address barriers and facilitate compassionate access to timely and high-quality cancer care.
Amazing to see teammates like Kris make such a huge impact at a national level!”
