A Recent Report from the Nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office – AACR
American Association for Cancer Research shared a post on LinkedIn:
“A recent report from the nonpartisan Congressional Budget Office (CBO) projected that the effect of a permanent 10% reduction in NIH funding—which is one-fourth the size of the nearly 40% cut to the NIH proposed in the President’s FY2026 budget—would amplify over time and eventually result in the approval of more than 20 fewer drugs each decade. These proposed cuts would have devastating effects on public health and erode the nation’s position as the global leader in biomedical research.
Please act now to protect the NIH and the hope it provides for cancer patients. Contact your representatives in Congress today and call on them to reject the President’s FY2026 budget and preserve investments in cancer research.”
