“Why are you so passionate about your work? Absolutely honoured to be asked this question frequently.
Cancer, affecting millions globally, has a stark reality: 70-80% of deaths occur in low-resource settings. It’s an equity issue, a human rights issue, as access to health becomes a privilege.
What does this mean? It means the privileged have higher survival chances.
The solution? Bridge the gap! Take innovations from well-resourced settings to those in need.
It’s not easy, but it’s not impossible.
This conviction fuels my life mission. I’m dedicated to making this change, and I’ve found the best vehicle in City Cancer Challenge with the support of all our partners, experts and agents of change across all our cities.
As we celebrate World Cancer Day this week, let’s also celebrate the power we have to fight this disease together!”
