A few years ago I attended a session on fundraising ran by Kristofer Rogers that changed my life: he explained the power of mobilizing our own network and community by giving of ourselves. Since that day I have donated my birthday to support the local infrastructure needed to treat people living with life-threatening cancer in places where The Max Foundation delivers medicines. Thanks to great collaborations, The Max Foundation is able to deliver the best medicines for cancer, but it is up to all of us now to support the establishment of the healthcare infrastructure needed to utilize these medicines. This is why today, 4 days before my birthday I ask you to support my efforts so this year, for the first time ever, women living with advanced breast cancer in Mozambique and other countries will be able to access the treatment they deserve as human beings.

People living with cancer in far to reach places are just like us; in fact, they are us, we are one; and like us they deserve the dignity and hope of access to the best treatments in the market. Together we can change lives.
