Lyndsey Harper: Here are some things Somna P. and I took away from JPM 2024
1) This was our first JPM, but I heard several times that this was the most enthusiasm and organization there had ever been in women’s health at this conference.
2) We QUICKLY filled a room with heavy hitters in women’s health both on panels and in the audience, and have been promised a 5x bigger size room next year by JPM…GET READY!
3) Representatives from the White House, including Carolyn Mazure, were in attendance asking questions, listening, and taking notes
4) Women’s health continues to be the best founder community ever.
5) There are still relatively very few women at this conference, generally speaking.
6) As an “outsider,” I wasn’t sure what I was getting myself into at JPM. For those of you who are considering it, this is a great conference for companies to share their message/progress, meet with current and future potential partners, and make personal connections with supporters and investors.
Our awesome investor and board member Kristi Ebong gave us some invaluable advice before we went…I’ll pass it along for those considering next year:
1) bring a raincoat, umbrella and rain-appropriate shoes…it always rains:)
2) call your law firm and see if they have a meeting space where you can take back-to-back meetings- this saved SO MUCH TIME. Thanks, Polsinelli!
3) reach out to contacts that you want to connect with either right before or right after the holiday break, offer your cell in case of confusion/delay
Here are some fun pics of our amazing week. More about the women’s health panel and HH later this week!”
