Aleix Prat: In ten years we will cure 80% of cancers
Aleix Prat, Director of the Cancer Institute at the Hospital Clinic of Barcelona, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Last Thursday I had the honour and pleasure of giving a talk at the Círculo Ecuestre on the present and future of cancer. Thanks to the initiative of Isabel Estany and Fero Foundation, I was able to share what I am most passionate about: transforming the ecosystem to make the vision of ending this disease a reality.
During the talk, I sent a clear message: ‘In ten years we will cure 80% of cancers.’
I firmly believe it. Research is transforming the way we diagnose and treat the disease, and we are getting closer to changing its history. But to achieve this, we need everyone’s commitment.
Thanks to initiatives such as those of Fero Foundation.
Centres where excellent research is carried out and where every day we take a step further towards more effective and personalised treatments.
I would like to thank especially Dr. Baselga, whose vision continues to guide us, and Silvia Garriga, who continues his legacy with admirable commitment. Also to the Dream Team Fero, led by Ruben Ventura Masip, for their tireless work to continue joining forces in this fight.”
