Amol Akhade, Consultant Medical Oncologist and Hemato-oncologist at Suyog Cancer Clinics, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“4th Feb is World Cancer Day.
Just Sharing this photo of 14-year-old boy with cancer of the rectum treated with surgery, chemotherapy and radiation and now having a normal life.
Treatment done for free at Municipal Hospital in Mumbai under government schemes for cancer.
I salute the courage shown by the boy and his father, both, during treatment and follow-up.
Every time he comes to opd, he has a smile on his face.
While every cancer patient’s Journey is unique, we all are united in our shared goal of reducing cancer burden and help in whatever way we can to make that journey happier.
I hope this story encourages more and more people with cancer and their families to face their tough situation with smile and courage.
Remember, we all are in this together.
We all are ‘United By Unique’.”
