Christy Brown: Celebrating Alexander’s 6th Birthday and his inspiring journey

Christy Brown, Senior District Sales Manager at Midwest, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Last Mother’s Day, Matt Brown and I didn’t think we would see another birthday. I can’t express how excited this little boy is to be 6, and we feel the same!

I am so thankful he could hear our song today and also hear Charlotte yell, ‘Happy birthday, bestie!’ as soon as she saw him! He loves his Ninja Turtle hearin’ aids! (As he puts it)

We continue to be thankful for Evan Busbey, Ed Keller, Sertoma Inc., Michelle K. Morrison, Ed.D, CCC-SLP, Thomas Wardzala, AuD PASC, The HearStrong Foundation, EARQ, Oticon, Oticon Medical, and all those who allowed him to hear again in only two and half weeks with his custom hearing aids!

He loved his birthday pancakes and ensuring there were 6 candles on them. He smiled as he crawled in our bed at 6 am. He giggled as he put his custom Ninja Turtle shirt on that has his name and age. He squealed when he opened his cool new snow boots from Grammie and Grandpa.

We are so excited to celebrate tonight and all day tomorrow with the beautiful snow in the background.

Alexander inspires us to, as he says, ‘be happy every day!’ He will use his fingers to move my mouth into a smile as he says this!

His positivity and love of everything in life is infectious. His sincere kindness and empathy toward his friends and family is something I don’t think can be taught. I don’t even know what to say about his strength and persistence.

I could go on forever. We love him so much! Happy Birthday Alexander!

I also celebrate the birthday of Medtronic co-founder, Earl Bakken! Because of him, our Alexander had the best possible outcome of his brain surgery!”
