Douglas Flora: Deeply inspired by the progress made at St. Elizabeth Healthcare
Douglas Flora, Executive Medical Director of Oncology Services at St. Elizabeth Healthcare, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Reflecting on 2024, I am deeply inspired by the progress we’ve made here at St. Elizabeth Healthcare. My partner-in-crime, Kathy Jennings and I are incredibly fortunate to have had the unwavering support of a board, community, and C-suite that believed in our vision from the very beginning. To see the execution of promises made and the impact we’ve created is beyond gratifying—and we’re just getting started. Maybe halfway there?
This program’s progress would not have been possible without our dedicated providers, nurses, donors, and other selfless cancer fighters. The leaders in our program consistently prioritize patients, demonstrating unparalleled commitment and care. Watching each of them grow with every milestone achieved is perhaps the most rewarding part of my role. It’s truly a privilege to share our story here, and let’s be clear—our success is a complete team effort. I love these people and how hard they work to make the world a better place at every opportunity.
As we celebrate this year’s achievements, I’m reminded of Simon Sinek’s advice: “Dream big. Start small. But most of all, start.” This progress began with a shared dream and a single step—and now we’re building momentum toward something extraordinary.
Here’s to a year of growth, innovation, and teamwork—and to keeping the dream alive as we step boldly into 2025.
Finally, a heartfelt thank you for the amazing work our Directors did this year balancing all of their responsibilities, teams AND me for another year. You guys are elite, and I am so proud to be building this place with all of you!”
