Julie McCrossin, Journalist, Broadcaster and Podcaster, shared a post on LinkedIn by Jacinta Yap, Research Fellow at the University of Melbourne, adding:
“When will Upright Treatment Delivery for Proton Therapy be available in Australia? In July I saw this treatment in Jerusalem.
Adaptive Proton Therapy – Sitting Up in LINAC Bunker. Interview with Dr. Jon Feldman, Jerusalem 2024.”
Quoting Jacinta Yap’s post:
“Last week I had the opportunity to give a talk at the Engineering and Physical Sciences in Medicine (EPSM) conference about some of the work that we’re doing here at University of Melbourne to improve the delivery of Proton Therapy.
We’re developing technology to make particle therapy more accessible and effective, by enabling fast, compact and upright treatments.
I was honoured to receive the award for Innovation and Future Impact. I hope to continue contributing to our field and this important cause of bettering cancer treatment and patient care.
Thank you to my awesome team and collaborators, and to Australasian College of Physical Scientists and Engineers in Medicine for organising another great conference. EPSM is always a nice time to catch-up with my medphys peers, looking forward to future conferences!”
