Taking aim at cervical cancer – Africa CDC

Africa CDC shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Taking aim at cervical cancer! Together with African Union member states and partners, we are gathered in Addis Ababa for the Continental Consultative Meeting, to accelerate implementation of the Regional Framework to eliminate cervical cancer in Africa by 2030.

Key focus areas:

  • Renewed commitments to accelerate progress.
  • Roadmap endorsement for improved HPV vaccination, diagnostics and treatment.
  • Formation of technical working group and regional centres of excellence to boost peer learning and support.

Together, we’re committed to achieving the 90-70-90 targets and building a future free from cervical cancer.”

Zainab Shinkafi-Bagudu, UICC President-Elect of 2024-2026, shared this post, adding:

“We talk non stop about the burden of cervical cancer in Africa. To make real progress and catch up with the rest of the world, we need to have the leadership and engagement of Africa CDC.

Let’s all put our skills foward and join the continental body for this task. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to contribute.”
