Ophira Ginsburg: Fantastic week in Geneva with colleagues and friends from near and far
Ophira Ginsburg shared a post on X:
“It’s a wrap!!
Fantastic week in Geneva with colleagues and friends from near and far at WCC2024.
A week of collaboration, commitment, and community. (Yes I love alliteration)
Highlights for me:
1. Meeting new people- especially early career scientists from different low and middle income countries – listening and learning about their aspirations & connecting them with others to offer mentorship and guidance
2. Spending time with folks dropping into the U.S. NCI National Cancer Institute (NCI) booth – meeting other cancer researchers, advocates, and research funders from around the globe, all focused on the same thing – reducing the cancer burden – advancing the best research to save lives, and to help make the lives of people living with cancer better..
3. Our plenary session on Women, power, and cancer – thanks to Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) for being such a valued partner and giving us the opportunity to share our progress after one year since we launched with the publication in The Lancet.”
