Authors: Vivian Salama, Brandon Godinich, Yimin Geng, Laia Humbert-Vidan, Laura Maule, Kareem A. Wahid, Mohamed A. Naser, Renjie He, Abdallah S.R. Mohamed, Clifton D. Fuller, Amy C. Moreno.

”Exciting to see some work I contributed to last summer with the Radiation Oncology team at MD Anderson Cancer Center in Houston, TX. Read about AI/ML advances in managing cancer-related pain.

During my recent hematology-oncology clerkship, I saw firsthand the incredible advances in cancer treatment, even since I began my career in a cancer immunotherapy lab at Berkeley in 2017. Cancers that were thought incurable even at that time have astounding response rates today.

As cancer treatments become increasingly focused on cures and survivorship, it becomes equally important that the short-term and long-term side effects of treatment are controlled. These tools provide a potential means for oncologists to more effectively mitigate treatment-related discomfort and personalize pain management strategies.

Happy reading!”
