“Making a movie was not in my career goals but it’s been such a rewarding and joyful project over the last year. My team at American Cancer Society Cancer Action Network (ACS CAN) worked with alignco and Ashley O’Shay and Cherrelle Swain and an incredible crew to bring the film ‘In Due Season’ to life.
‘In Due Season’ is an exploration of the history of systemic racism in our health system and the ways in which Black Americans are affected by racism, discrimination and the disproportionate impact of the coverage gap.
This project would not have been possible without the support of RWJF and our incredible partners at Black Voters Matter (Fenika Miller, Wanda Moseley).
We are thrilled that ‘In Due Season’ had its world premiere at DC/DOX Festival and will be shown at Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival in early August.
