“This week is a fun adventure in travel and impact! Currently in San Diego on Day 2 of recording the CME for health and fitness professionals to engage in healthcare and kicking of this course with a live webinar today.

American Council on Exercise (ACE Fitness) is where I got my first personal training certification in 1999 when I had no idea what I was doing with my life but it felt right!

Later this week I head to Charlotte for the next stop on the ASCO2024 Total Health | Oncology med ed tour.

While these may sound like drastically different tasks on the outside, they are remarkably similar.

In both I have the opportunity to talk about my favorite pillar of lifestyle medice with exercise!

In both I emphasize the importance of practical application and the importance of connecting, building community and engaging in conversations with curiosity and passion.

When I started my career in Exercise Oncology in 2003, I recall how difficult it was to connect with health care and to be seen and heard. How many messages were never responded to, how many promises were never fulfilled, how many ideas just didn’t seem important enough.

I vowed to tackle this differently and be a role model I wish I had. While it may take a bit of time, I am adamant to answer emails I receive and messages here to respond to the questions and ideas because it takes courage to act and I am a huge believer in the power of courage!
