I was honored to receive the first award in the leadership track, highlighting the top Emarati leader in the UAE’s business, medical, and industrial sectors within the private sector.

Prof. Humaid Al Shamsi is the Founder and Director of Medical Oncology at Burjeel Medical City. He serves as President of the Emirates Oncology Society and Adjunct Clinical Professor of Oncology at the University of Sharjah.

Prof. Humaid holds board certifications from the USA, Canada, and the UK in medical oncology and internal medicine. Recognized as the sole certified Gastrointestinal Oncologist in the UAE, his practice focuses on various solid tumors, including breast, colon, gastric, and lung cancers.

Additionally, he’s the first UAE national trained in palliative care, and he actively advises governmental committees to improve cancer care standards in the UAE and the region.
