“Last October, Ryder’s family received news that he has diffuse intrinsic pontine glioma (DIPG) (now called diffuse midline glioma), a rare form of brain cancer. They were told that the tumor on his brain stem is inoperable and that his time with them is limited.
Fortunately, Ryder is currently doing well as his tumor decreased another 3% since his first scan… totaling a 31% decrease in size.
He remains on trial medicine and is keeping up with the life of an 8-year-old boy who loves school, sports, and friends. Basketball is his absolute favorite!
The road ahead for Ryder is unknown, but throughout his journey he has been surrounded by the love of his family, friends, and community.
Whenever anyone tells Ryder, ‘I love you,’ his immediate response is ‘I love you more.’
