Wafik El-Deiry: Novel insights into therapy resistance mechanisms downstream of p73
Wafik El-Deiry, Director of Legorreta Cancer Center at Brown University, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Very pleased to share another long-awaited bioRxiv and medRxiv preprint by El-Deiry Lab group member and Brown University faculty colleagues Dr. Shengliang Zhang and Dr. Lanlan Zhou.
Tumor suppressor p73 transcriptionally regulates c-FLIP to impede its priming of extrinsic apoptosis while a switcher compound degrades c-FLIP protein.
The paper reports novel insights into therapy resistance mechanisms downstream of tumor suppressor p73 and a novel strategy with a new small molecule drug that degrades c-FLIP to address the cancer therapy resistance.
Looking forward to seeing this work progress and get translated to try and help patients.”
