Global Summit on War and Cancer 2023: Alexandra Muller’s speech on addressing the needs in pediatric oncology during humanitarian crisis and experiences from SAFER Ukraine

The 1st Global Summit on War and Cancer took place on 14 – 16 December 2023. It was organized by the Institute of Cancer and Crisis and OncoDaily. Renowned healthcare specialists from all over the world came together to discuss cancer issues rising in war-affected areas.

We were honored to have Alexandra Muller, the Medical Director of SAFER Ukraine, as a speaker during the summit where she addressed the needs in pediatric oncology during humanitarian crisis in Ukraine. 

Dr. Muller shared the experiences of SAFER Ukraine collaborations from its establishment to implementation of its strategic plan to provide safer environment for children with cancer affected by war. She illustrated their experience of transformation from emergent situations to sustainable humanitarian response through collaborations and pre-war ties.
