Meet Lincoln and his mother who come from Thyolo district in Malawi – CANCaRe Africa

“Please meet Lincoln and his mother who come from Thyolo district in Malawi. A few months before this picture was taken, Lincoln was diagnosed with cancer and he received chemotherapy treatment at Queen Elizabeth Central Hospital. They traveled for 1 hour from their home to the hospital. Lincoln has responded well to treatment and the mother is relieved to see her son’s health improving. At first, when she was told that Lincoln had cancer, she was heartbroken and wondered how is it possible to for a young boy like him to have cancer as she thought this disease affects adults only. After thorough counseling, the mother understood the situation and became optimistic that her son wwill be fine. She is always praying for her son to get better.
