Amy Moore Reflects on Bonnie Addario’s Lasting Impact in Lung Cancer Advocacy
Amy Moore, Director of Patient Engagement and Advocacy at Summit Therapeutics, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“I’ve been reflecting on my many memories from my time at ALCF/GO2 for Lung Cancer this week. As we know, Bonnie Addario was a trailblazer in patient advocacy. She believed in putting patients first. Always. She also knew that investing in science and research was key to unlocking the cures of tomorrow.
One of ALCF’s core programs when I joined was the Young Innovators Team Award. Bonnie believed in the talent of our young researchers and their collective power when they come together to join forces. One of the early beneficiaries of the YITA program was Dr. Trever Bivona, now a well-established, well-regarded lung cancer expert.
I was proud to be Bonnie’s student and will carry the many lessons she taught me (and many of us around world) forward as we strive to honor her legacy.”
