Cynthia Jordan: Protecting Access to DCISionRT for Ductal Carcinoma Patients
Cynthia Jordan, Founder of Learn Look Locate, shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Every year, more than 60,000 women in the U.S. are diagnosed with ductal carcinoma in situ (DCIS)—a non-invasive form of breast cancer. Too often, women undergo radiation therapy (RT) after surgery, even when it may not be necessary.
The DCISionRT test changes that. This genomic test helps patients and doctors determine whether RT is likely to provide real benefit. With this knowledge, women can avoid unnecessary treatment, side effects, and costs—while gaining confidence in their choices.
Medicare currently recognizes DCISionRT as an Advanced Diagnostic Laboratory Test (ADLT), granting national coverage that has already benefited thousands of women.
But that access is at risk.
A Medicare contractor (MolDX) has proposed eliminating coverage, declaring these tests ‘not reasonable and necessary.’ If this draft policy is finalized, patients will lose critical information, physicians will lose valuable guidance, and women will lose their voice in care decisions.
We can’t let this happen. Here’s how you can help:

As a survivor and as the founder of Learn Look Locate, I know firsthand how critical it is for women to have access to every test that can guide their treatment.
DCISionRT gives women the power of knowledge and choice—and no one should have that taken away.
Please share this message with those you know. Together, we can make sure that every woman diagnosed with DCIS has the right to access the tools she needs to make the best decision for her health.”
