Strengthening Cancer Care Through Smoking Cessation Training – Cancer Institute NSW
Cancer Institute NSW shared a post on LinkedIn:
“Smoking tobacco remains the largest cause of preventable death and disease in Australia, but we are committed to working together to change this.
Two members from the NSW Quitline team, Dr Kahren White and Melinda Choi, recently facilitated an educational workshop on smoking cessation at Lung Foundation Australia in Brisbane.
The workshop provided specialist lung cancer nurses with cessation knowledge to implement in their clinical work, supporting people living with lung cancer.
Huge thanks to Amii Gibson, Nicole Parkinsoni and the Lung Foundation Australia, and Mark Brooke for organising a fantastic day of education.
Delivered by the Cancer Institute NSW, the NSW Quitline is a free and confidential information and counselling telephone service to support people trying to quit smoking and vaping in NSW.
