Fumiko Ladd Chino: CMS Announces New Prior Authorization Barriers to Traditional Medicare
Fumiko Ladd Chino, Radiation Oncologist at MD Anderson Cancer Center, shared a post on X:
“CMS just announced a model to introduce new prior authorization barriers to Traditional Medicare (which classically hasn’t faced any).
We need less prior authorization, not more.
Don’t let this title fool you.
This is a ‘fix’ for a problem that doesn’t exist.”
Charles Jiang, Medical Oncologist at UT Southwestern, shared this post, adding:
“This will, again, drive up the admin cost for practice and hospital, which will eventually be paid by everyone.”
