Stacey Tinianov: Together, we can prioritize access, equity, and well-being
Stacey Tinianov, Co-founder of Advocates for Collaborative Education (ACE), shared on LinkedIn:
“As someone deeply committed to advancing equitable access to quality healthcare, the past few days have been profoundly challenging. On a personal level, it has been difficult to process the rapid erosion of rights I have long considered fundamental—not just as a woman, but as an American and daughter of two USAF veterans. Perhaps, like many of you, I’ve felt overwhelmed by the pace and scope of these changes and furious at their inequitable impact on individuals and communities who have already long been marginalized by this country and our society. Thanks to coffee, conversations with good friends, and access to nature, I’ve rediscovered my tether to a resilience that has served me well in the past.
While the immediate future may feel somewhat uncertain and incredibly daunting, I want to emphasize that this future is not hopeless—it is simply harder. More importantly, I want to remind those in the advocacy community that we are not helpless. Though our individual power may feel limited, as advocates and as human beings, we have long proven our ability to come together to address complex issues. Together, we can continue to prioritize access, equity, and the well-being of all people. Individually, we can make decisions to value diversity, model inclusion, and facilitate equity.
As an advocate certainly, but also as a woman, as a mother, as a wife, as a professional, and as a cancer survivor, I know I can do hard things, and I will continue to focus on advancing equitable access to quality healthcare. Looking forward to working with fellow advocates, friends, and colleagues invested in the same. The hills may be steeper, but we’ve shown we’re pretty good at climbing.”
