Victoria Wolodzko Smart: I invite you to learn more from Toni Lee in today’s podcast about supporting those living with MBC.

Quoting Victoria Wolodzko Smart, Senior Vice President, Mission at Susan G. Komen, on LinkedIn:

”As the world marks Breast Cancer Awareness Month, I want to reflect on why we continue the fight against breast cancer — the cause of most breast cancer deaths: metastatic breast cancer. In a cruel coda to breast cancer treatment, metastatic breast cancer (MBC) often arises months or years after a person has completed treatment for early or locally advanced breast cancer. But about 6-9% of people have MBC when they are first diagnosed with breast cancer (this is called de novo MBC.) More than 160,000 people (women AND men) are living in the US with MBC, and for them, our work is not yet done. We need more research and more support because for those with MBC, treatment will last a lifetime. I invite you to learn more from Toni Lee, Manager of Patient Navigation, in today’s podcast about supporting those living with MBC.”
