Sami (Papacek) Mansfield: Addressing the changing landscape of exercise oncology
Sami (Papacek) Mansfield shared a post by Robert Newton, Professor of Exercise Medicine at Edith Cowan University, on LinkedIn, adding the following:
“Exercise oncology community! I completed this survey, and you should too! The average age of a cancer diagnosis is over 60 years, and we are all seeing younger and more deconditioned patients. We can make a change as we look upstream and try to get ahead of some of the cancer fallout that we all see coming!
Although I no longer have a clinical practice, as a consultant keeping a pulse on the population, recommendations, resources, and tools are essential to my work and to implementing this part of the lifestyle medicine pillars. I also enjoy completing surveys to learn from others, such as Robert Newton, who is also a mentor, to get a peek into his brain and see this work from a different lens! We can all learn!”
