“In the 1950s, almost all kids diagnosed with cancer died. Today, thanks to research, kids with some types of leukemias have a 90% chance of surviving. But for many other childhood cancers, progress has been limited, and for too many kids there is still little hope for a cure.
The remarkable increases in survival rates are largely due to the participation of children and adolescents in clinical trials. These trials are vital for advancing treatments.
The success of a clinical trial depends not only on qualified doctors and researchers, but on trained clinical research associates (CRAs) to manage the study, handling everything from enrolling participants to accurately reporting data.
With your support, an Infrastructure Grant made to the Children’s Hospital New Orleans is helping to enhance the hospital’s ability to conduct groundbreaking survivorship research and improve outcomes for patients by supporting a dedicated CRA for childhood and adolescent cancer survivors.
Being cancer free isn’t free and you can make a difference during National Cancer Survivor Month and beyond by funding more research.”
