Georgina Long has been elected as a Fellow of The Australian Academy of Science – Melanoma Institute Australia

”We’re proud to announce Georgina Long, our MIA Co-Medical Director, has been elected as a Fellow of The Australian Academy of Science in recognition of her outstanding contribution to science, particularly her role in ground-breaking research which has changed the face of melanoma treatment.

Georgina Long is among 24 researchers – including an expert in spider venoms, a leader in plant science, and an authority on star formation – elected as 2024 Fellows of the Australian Academy of Science.

President of the Academy Chennupati Jagadish said it is a privilege to welcome new Fellows to the Academy each year. ‘From the depths of Earth’s oceans to the edges of our galaxy, Fellows nominated to the Academy today represent the ground-breaking research happening in Australia.’
