Mainak Bardhan: Advances in stem cell-based therapeutic transfers for glioblastoma treatment
Mainak Bardhan, Doctoral Researcher at the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, posted on X about recent paper he and his colleagues co-authored:
“Excited to share our latest publication!
Brain in Expert Review of Neurotherapeutics Taylor and Francis Research Insights, where we explored how stem cell-based therapies are pushing the frontier of Glioblastoma treatment.
Here we covered a wide range of approaches utilizing neural, mesenchymal, glioblastoma, hematopoietic, and adipose-derived stem cells—highlighting their tumor-homing capabilities and potential to modulate the immune environment, inhibit angiogenesis, and induce apoptosis.
We systematically reviewed current clinical and preclinical research up to January 2024, including insights into:
- Key mechanisms of therapeutic action
- Safety and efficacy in ongoing trials
- Challenges in delivery and longterm outcomes
- Opportunities to enhance outcomes.”
