Françoise Meunier: How is your country transposing the Consumer Credit Directive?

Françoise Meunier, Founder of the European Initiative on Ending Discrimination Against Cancer Survivors, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“Call for Information: How is your country transposing the Consumer Credit Directive?

As part of my work on Ending Discrimination Against Cancer Survivors, I am tracking how EU Member States are implementing the new Consumer Credit Directive (CCD) and its measures around the right to be forgotten for cancer survivors.

With the November 2025 deadline approaching to transpose the CCD, I would love to hear from you on:

  • If the transposition has started in your country
  • Timelines and key debates around the Right to Be Forgotten (RTBF)
  • Challenges and expected completion dates
  • Any other relevant updates

Data drives change. In Czechia, their recent ‘Czechia’s Health 2030’ report shows rising cancer survival rates and highlights the need to cut the RTBF timeline to five years—pushing the Ministry of Finance to go beyond the EU’s ‘up to 15-year’ framework.

In Belgium, KCE’s work has helped secure a 5-year RTBF by January 2025, and 0-to-1-year timeframes for breast cancers depending on the stages.

Reliable data is key to ensuring fairer financial rights for cancer survivors. Let’s push for evidence-based policies!

Get in touch at info.”
