Nancy Bolous: It’s so beautiful to be surrounded by a non-profit global community whose only goal is to save lives

“Last week, as part of the Global Alliance Convening week in St. Jude, I had the pleasure of presenting our costing and cost-effectiveness projects to a group of physicians and fundraisers from all over the globe, whose work is focused on childhood cancer.

I explained to them the importance of generating health economics evidence to prove to funders that treating childhood cancer isn’t unaffordable, that saving children’s lives is a long-term investment. We worked on tools and exercises that are simple and feasible, even for busy and overworked physicians and fundraisers.

After the session, I was so humbled to see so many partners asking for my business card and telling me about all the projects they want to work on with me. And the cherry on top of the cake was this beautiful gift that I received from Alina Pătrăhău the president of a fund raising charity for childhood cancer in Romania.
