Lacy Hubbard: Honored to participate in the Continental Consultative Meeting to Eliminate Cervical Cancer in Africa

Lacy Hubbard, President of the Elekta Foundation, shared a post on LinkedIn:

“It was an honor to participate in the Continental Consultative Meeting to Eliminate Cervical Cancer in Africa this week in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Hosted by Africa CDC for the first time, this landmark event brought together representatives from the Ministries of Health of 27 African Union Member States, alongside key partners such as WHO, UNITAID, Jhpiego, Roche, MSD, and others, to accelerate elimination of cervical cancer.

Key outcomes included the region-specific roadmaps, the first three Centers of Excellence in Rwanda, Zambia, and Morocco, and the establishment of a technical group to support the implementation of the continental strategy. These initiatives will advance collaboration, knowledge sharing, and innovation to scale up HPV vaccination, screening, and treatment.

I was privileged to join the partner panel and share insights on our FAST model in cervical cancer screening. It was gratifying to see how well the audience received and appreciated it. Moments like these inspire continued efforts to drive impact.

I am grateful to Africa CDC, participating countries, and all partners for their dedication. Together, we are building a healthier, more equitable future for women in Africa.”
