”Thrilled to receive the prestigious NIH Director’s Pioneer Grant Award (DP1)!!

DP1 NIH award, also known as the NIH Director’s Pioneer Award, is part of the NIH’s High-Risk, High-Reward Research program. While it is similar to a R01 grant, this award is specifically designed to support individual scientists of exceptional creativity who propose highly innovative research projects with the potential for unusually broad impact in the sciences.

The NIH Director’s Pioneer Award is made to an individual, but it’s truly a tribute all those who mentored me in the past years. You all truly made this possible! Now cheers to research Independence!”

Ahizechukwu Eke, MD, PhD, MPH, FACOG, FWACS is the Associate Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. Previously he was an Assistant Professor of Maternal Fetal Medicine at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He was an Obstetrics and Gynecology Resident Physician at Michigan State University/Sparrow Hospital.
