“I’m looking forward to walking through a new door as Co-Lead for the Survivorship Program at UPMC Hillman Cancer Center.
With my colleague Kathryn Schmitz, an internationally renowned scholar and researcher in exercise oncology, we hope to establish the following non-negotiables as offerings for every patient with cancer: exercise oncology, lifestyle nutrition, management of symptoms with holistic approaches other than medicines, and attentive oncology care for surveillance of cancer recurrence or detection of secondary cancers.
We are continuing to learn from our colleagues including the Cancer Cabinet Survivorship Working Group, a part of the Cancer Moonshot.
We look forward to establishing a true partnership between research and clinical care in the service of patient centered care. Cheers.”
