Roupen Odabashian: If nurses are being replaced today what does tomorrow hold?

Roupen Odabashian shared on LinkedIn:

“If nurses are being replaced today what does tomorrow hold?

The internet has been flooded with news about Hippocratic AI where this company can provide an AI that can call patients and do administrative work for less than what the nurses are paid.

Where do physicians stand from this?

Is it possible to replace them?

In the current stage less likely, but in the future maybe, happy to hear everyone’s thoughts too.

Let’s break down what Hippocratic AI provides.

An AI agent that calls patients and asks them questions or schedules them for an appointment. However, there is no data that can affect the outcome and survival the data that is being processed is audio and text mainly.

Let’s look at what physicians do when they treat patients:

Physicians process many types of data like text, audio (patient conversation), and images like PET scans and CT scans and then combine all this data to a clinical decision that fits the patient.

Not only that, a clinical decision is usually catered to a specific patient and a given scenario in the context of the patient’s social determinants of health.

When do you think physicians will be replaced by AI chatbots?”
