Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus: 2023 has shown what can be achieved if we work together to advance health for all

Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, Director-General of the World Health Organization, shared a post on X/Twitter:

”2023 has shown what can be achieved if we work together to advance Health For All. New vaccines approved, deadly diseases eliminated, global health emergencies declared over, to name a few.

But the year has also shown what is at stake when the pursuit of health is undermined due to conflict, poverty and inequity. All people, especially the most vulnerable, deserve better.

I look forward to 2024 with hope, to continue working with all partners and communities to fulfil World Health Organization’s (WHO) promise to promote and protect the health of all people, everywhere. May solidarity and peace prevail throughout the world. Read further.”
