A team recently completed the Human Breast Cell Atlas – Priscilla Chan

We still know so little about what goes on in our bodies at the cellular level and how disease manifests. But researchers are accelerating the field of cell biology by building reference maps of all the cell types in the human body. A team recently completed the Human Breast Cell Atlas—it is the most comprehensive reference of healthy breast tissue, which includes samples from donors of communities that are normally excluded from this type of research and will provide new  insights into women’s health. This map is already helping to clarify diseases like breast cancer and identify new treatment options. Congrats to the team involved in this huge effort, and I can’t wait to see what discoveries come from it.
