Mark Middleton: Catherine Di Stasi is this year’s Middleton Scholar

Mark Middleton, CEO of the Icon Group, shared on LinkedIn:

“I’m very proud to announce Icon Group’s Group Manager for Clinical Governance and Quality, Catherine Di Stasi as this year’s Middleton Scholar.

I’ve been lucky enough to have a front row seat of Catherine’s career from radiation therapist though to Site Manager of a busy radiation oncology centre to Regional Manager and now head of our global Quality team.

Catherine is an incredibly nurturing leader and has played an integral part in the success of Icon. She is a wonderful representative for Icon on the global stage and this opportunity will no doubt see her career grow from strength to strength.

I’d like to thank the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) and my fellow judge, Jeff Dunn.

It was another incredible year of applicants who showed a real dedication to not only our mission but an understanding of global health and how we can play our part in improving outcomes for patients, families and communities.

When my family and I started this scholarship in 2018 we didn’t expect to see it soar to the heights it has.

I’m incredibly proud of our scholars and the careers they continue to make here at Icon and beyond and can’t wait to see Catherine’s contribution.

It is particularly poignant that we announce our 2024 Scholar today which is the 19th anniversary of my Father’s passing.

My Mum and Dad sacrificed everything to educate their three sons. Providing opportunity for others to strive for excellence would make Dad extremely proud.
