Talk of Hope Podcast on Liquid Biopsy and Speed to Lung Cancer Diagnosis – Oncogene Cancer Research
Oncogene Cancer Research shared a post on LinkedIn:
“This episode of Roy Castle Lung Cancer Foundation’s Talk of Hope podcast is out now – and is one that means a lot to our team.
Our co-founder, Yvonne Diaz, joined host Rachel Avery and leading UK thoracic oncologist Professor Alastair Greystoke to talk NHS England’s use of liquid biopsies – a simple blood test – to diagnose lung cancer.
Our co-founder shares her personal experience of how access to a liquid biopsy in a clinical trial finally revealed the oncogene driving her lung cancer – in just 10 days. She had already undertaken two tissue biopsies and had been quite unwell. That result unlocked access to targeted treatment that she’s still on today.
When you’re living with advanced lung cancer, speed to diagnosis can be everything. This episode explores this test and its potential future use, but also everything from living with lung cancer to the hope from breakthroughs like these.
Listen to Talk of Hope.”
